Off-Duty D.C. Police Officer Shot Dead in Prince George’s County, Upper Malboro

The county police have confirmed the death of an off-duty police officer who was shot and killed on Monday night in what has been described as a domestic dispute at a house located in Prince George’s county.

The PG Police Department responded to the scene of a fatal shooting at a home in the 6700 block of Green Moss Drive just after 9pm. The officer, a member of the District of Columbia police department, was shot by someone believed to be a family member, according to a county police spokeswoman, Cpl. Maria Mckinney.

So far, no motive for the shooting has been found out, and there has been no information about the murder weapon. But, the police have surrounded the house where they believe the suspect could still be inside, with a conflict management team on the scene to monitor the situation.
